Ludhiana, Apr.7 (ANI): Designers from several parts of the country came under one roof to showcase a bouquet of colours and designs at a three-day exhibition here.

Though Ludhiana is a small town, it boasts of fashionistas who are fully aware about the global trends floating in the circuit. The exhibition not only displayed rich and ethnic designs, but also included stylish accessories, upholstery and shoes.

These designers had traversed miles to participate in this extravaganza, which aimed to infuse a spirit of liveliness and elegance into the lives of women.

"Several designers have come here from all across India and they are showcasing their spring-summer collection, so there is a lot of variety. There are designers from Delhi, Bombay, Jaipur, so everyone is showcasing the latest designs and collections. This exhibition will last for three days," said Anupreet, an organiser.

At the exhibition, one got to see several hues and colours, as pastel shades dominated collections with the onset of spring. According to the organisers, today's women are smart and stylish and wear their attitude on their sleeves. The price range was decided keeping the middle class in mind, not burning a hole in their pocket.

"It's been very good for us because Ludhiana is not a small city and people are very fashion conscious and people here are very well-travelled. So, they know the market trends in India and the world. So, I think they are very aware and it does not make a difference. I mean it's about one's taste. If you are stylish, you like whatever it is. So, inspite of the fact that we are from Bombay, people are very well aware of the style. So, no difference as such. We have done a very summery collection with light colours and work on gota (lace), that's what we specialise in and there are chanderi and georgette suits, so that's what we have done. So, the price range is different, starts from 1350 rupees ($26.41) and goes upwards," said Sanya, a designer from Mumbai.

The exhibition was organised, with a motive to provide a window of opportunity to womenfolk to establish themselves in the contemporary age.he event would conclude on Sunday. (ANI)
