Washington, Apr 5 (ANI): US Republican presidential contender, Mitt Romney might be facing uncertainty, as there has been a decline in the support amongst the independent women in his camp, according to a latest poll conducted by USA Today/Gallup on Tuesday.
According to the poll, which was conducted before Romney's victories, President Barrack Obama has a 48 to 30 percent advantage over the GOP nominee Mitty Romney and places Obama's overall support above Romney's in 12 swing states, the L.A. times reports.
Romney's campaign draws concern from undecided voters and substantial retreat of vote from the independent women in his party.
Going by the results of the polls conducted between October and December last year, Romney led Obama 48 to 43 percent among independent women. But now, Obama seems to be rather the preferred candidate over Romney, by 51 to 37 percent.
The 19 percent swing in the votes, with a sharp decline of 11 percentage points for Romney and Obama up by 8 percentage points, could possibly put Romney's current position at worry.
The poll was conducted from March 20-26, encompassing the battleground states of Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin. (ANI)
