Islamabad, Apr 5(ANI): Former Inter Services Intelligence(ISI) chief Lieutenant General Shuja Pasha has said he consulted only the military leadership after he came to know about Pakistani-American Mansoor Ijaz's article published in a daily.
"I wanted to know about the author of the memo and directed a source in the ISI to contact Mansoor who agreed to meet me and share details but outside Pakistan and the US," The News quoted Lt. Gen. Pasha, as saying at Pakistan's judicial commission hearing on the MemoGate issue.
Lt. Gen. Pasha told the commission that the four- hour meeting was arranged at a London hotel on October 22, 2011.
Lt. Gen. Pasha is attending the proceedings of the commission for the first time.
The commission comprises hearing the memo issue comprises Chief Justice Balochistan High Court, Justice Qazi Faez Issa, Chief Justice Sindh High Court, Justice Musheer Alam and Chief Justice Islamabad High Court, Justice Iqbal Hameed-ur-Rehman.
Haqqani had earlier cited his inability to attend the proceedings due to heart problems. (ANI)
