Rio de Janeiro, April 3 (IANS) Internacional has retained its status as Brazil's top-ranked team in the latest South American Confederation (Conmebol) club rankings.
The Porto Alegre outfit has 500.32 points, with Ecuador's Liga de Quito (526.32) occupying the top spot.
Universidad de Chile, which won both the South American Cup and Chile's national league last season, rose to third place with 363.2 points.
Santos and Cruzeiro are Brazil's only other representatives in the top 10, Xinhua reported.
Copa Libertadores holder Santos is in sixth spot with 298.6 points while the Minas Gerais outfit holds ninth place with 212.2 points.
The ranking system takes into account the results from the past five seasons of all official tournaments recognized by Conmebol.
