New Delhi, Apr 3 (ANI): Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi has called a meeting of his party leaders in New Delhi on April 6 to analyze the recent poll outcome in Uttar Pradesh.
According to reports, this will be the first formal review meeting of the Uttar Pradesh polls by Rahul Gandhi, who had earlier last month accepted responsibility for the party's poor performance in the Uttar Pradesh assembly polls.
Gandhi had said that the results of the seven-phased polls in Uttar Pradesh, was a clear indication that the Congress organizationally still had a long way to go to win the confidence of the public in the state.
He had, however, expressed confidence that overtime; the Congress Party would surely win in Uttar Pradesh one day.
The results for sixteenth legislative assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh were declared on March 6 showing a clear majority to Samajwadi Party, which won 224 seats of total 403 seats in Uttar Pradesh.
Incumbent Bahujan Samaj Party was routed with 80 seats. BJP was placed in third spot with 46 seats, while Congress was relegated to the fourth place with a tally of 28 seats. (ANI)
