London, Apr 1(ANI): Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson believes if star striker Wayne Rooney continues his good form, and even scores a goal per game in the remaining matches of the Premier League, then that would certainly help them clinch their 20th league title.
Ferguson believes scoring goals in the end stages of the season is of utmost importance for any club's hope to do well, and it isn't any different for United.
"Wayne has scored something like 17 out of 17. He can keep averaging a goal a game, eight more goals. We could reasonably expect that. Goals are definitely going to be a factor in the championship," The Sun quoted Ferguson, as saying.
"We've had 18 goal scorers this season which is good. Berbatov has nine, Welbeck 10 and Chicharito 12. Usually, we have had one outstanding scorer, Cristiano Ronaldo or Rooney. Last year, the sensation was Chicharito," he added. (ANI)
