Islamabad, Apr 1(ANI): The Judicial Commission probing Memogate has issued notices to respondents including former Pakistan envoy to US Husain Haqqani, Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF),Yasin Malik, and Director General (USA) Foreign office Ubaidur Rehman, among others to appear before the commission on April 5, 2012.
The move comes after the commission had asked the Supreme Court to extend the deadline till March 31, 2012 so that Haqqani could appear before the bench, The Express Tribune reports.
However, as the deadline passed for a Supreme Court bench to rule on Haqqani's petition to appear before the commission via a video link, it issued orders for a new date for him appear.
The apex court had earlier extended the term of judicial commission for another six weeks, observing that the commission's probe is significant, but stressed that it should conclude soon. (ANI)
