Kejriwal speculates, 'people might stop paying taxes soon'

Kaushambi, Fri, 30 Mar 2012 ANI

Kaushambi (Ghaziabad), Mar 30 (ANI): In order to offer a solution to people distressed due to continuous apathy from the administration, Team Anna member Arvind Kejriwal has said citizens might soon refrain from payment of their taxes.

"The height of corruption has reached to such a level that people will now have to think why they are paying taxes? That time is not far when the country's people would decide whether to give tax," Kejriwal told media here.

" The beautiful road that you see outside my house was made only after we had stopped paying the house tax," he added.

He further slammed the Congress party for linking Anna Hazare and his associates with different political and right wing outfits everytime they raise a burning issue.

"The agenda is corruption which has completely distressed people. People are also distressed because of high inflationary prices. When they don't find the solution for graft then make false charges against us saying that we have links with the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh," said Kejriwal.

Kejriwal had earlier released a list of 14 ministers who, he claimed would be facing investigation under charges of corruption if a strong ombudsman bill is passed.

He took the names of around 25 politicians, including ministers Sharad Pawar, S.M. Krishna, P.Chidambaram, Praful Patel, Kapil Sibal, Kamal Nath, Farooq Abdullah, Ajit Singh, Sri Prakash Jaiswal, Sushil Kumar Shinde, Vilasrao Deshmukh, M.K. Azhagiri and G.K. Vasan.

"If the Lokpal Bill comes into force, FIRs will be lodged against 14 ministers of the Union Government," he said.

"Who will punish people like them? Delhi Police or the CBI? No one knows because these people will never pass Lokpal Bill," Kejriwal said. (ANI)
