Kolkata, March 29 (IANS) West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee Thursday said the central government should make monetary provisions for implementing the Food Bill.
She also said the central government should not withdraw the subsidy on fertilizers as it will have an adverse impact on farmers.
"We should not withdraw all the subsidies on fertilizers as it will hurt the farmers. As a portion of subsidy has been withdrawn it has adversely impacted the prices of fertilizers," said Banerjee while interacting with media persons.
She said the central government should arrange monetary provisions to implement the food bill.
"We agree with the food bill but the (central) government should arrange monetary provisions to support the food bill, otherwise it cannot be implemented."
