Yangon, March 25 (IANS) A state-run domestic airline in Myanmar has plans to start medical emergency chartered flight services in a bid to facilitate patients during difficult times, a local weekly reported Sunday.

According to the Flower News, the Myanmar Airways (MA) also plans to cooperate with Heavy Life Company from Australia in running more chartered flights.

Two 19-seater Beech 1900 D aircraft, purchased from South Africa, will be put into operation before this June, the China Daily reported Sunday.

With its nine aircraft, the Myanmar Airways is currently operating flights from Yangon to 25 destinations in the country.

There are six domestic airlines in Myanmar including one state-owned, the Myanmar Airways, and five privately-run ones -- Air Mandalay, Yangon Airways, Air Bagan, Asian Wings and Air Kanbawza.

In addition, there is another Myanmar airline -- the Myanmar Airways International (MAI) -- flying solely to some foreign destinations.
