Islamabad, Mar 21 (ANI): Pakistani film actress Meera's car was impounded two days ago, and despite her own efforts and several recommendations from influential people she has been unable to get it released from the police station.
According to sources, the actress spent hours in the station trying to get back her Toyota Corolla XLI after it was found plying without requisite documents, the Dawn newspaper reported.
The police said Meera's driver was intercepted by a patrolling team in Islamabad on Saturday. He told the cops that he was an employee of the actress whom he dropped somewhere in the area but could not identify the location.
On his failure to produce the necessary documents, police took custody of the car and shifted it to a police station.
The driver was asked to bring documents proving the ownership and get the vehicle back. In response, he called Meera who turned up at the police station but did not bring the documents.
She was told that she would get the car from the court on superdari after producing the documents there.
Police said neither Meera nor her driver came back after leaving the police station early Saturday. (ANI)
