London, Mar 15(ANI): England Test team captain Andrew Strauss has said he is not concerned by Alastair Cook's high-quality performance as one-day captain, and insists everyone is focused on making sure that the team wins as many matches as possible.
"It's a great thing, surely, that we did well under Alastair in the one-day matches. Honestly, I don't understand the mind-set that I might be in some way undermined," The Sun quoted Strauss, as saying.
"It's not something that bothers me. We're all focused on the same thing - which is England winning as many games as possible," he said.
Strauss stressed that the benefit of having separate captains is to allow them to solely concentrate on one form of the game, and believes it has worked really well for England cricket.
"The reason we have separate captains is to allow each of us to concentrate on one form of the game. So far, it's worked really well and I'm delighted for Cooky," Strauss said.
"I need and want to take the momentum he's gained to help us move forward in the Test team. The one-day team took a couple of big strides forward," he added.
"It gives everyone a bit of a spring in their step and hopefully allows us to put what happened in the Tests against Pakistan to bed," he said. (ANI)
