Washington, Mar 12(ANI): The US presidential campaign is targeting women voters.
Democrats are trying to garner female support for the Affordable Care Act, by roping in nurses to spread the message.
Obama campaign officials said the female voter initiative would largely focus on health care.
His re-election team will also send one million mails to women in key states.
"Women deserve equal day's pay for equal day's work. Daughters should have the same opportunities as our sons," Obama had said at a Houston event.
A majority of women had voted for Barack Obama helping him become President in 2008.
But Republicans are not going to just let Obama walk away with the female vote.
"Women are the ultimate swing vote. They're less ideologically rigid and they make very pragmatic decisions when it comes to who to vote for," Fox News quoted Republican political analyst Tony Sayegh, as saying.
Mississippi Republican Governor Phil Bryant, whose state is holding a Republican presidential primary, predicted that Mitt Romney will be the winner, largely on the strength of his ratings with women.
"Fifty percent of the people voting in this primary will be women. Governor Romney has a great favorability rating with women, and I think a southern female professional woman is going to say: That's who I want to vote for," Bryant said. (ANI)
