London, Mar 11(ANI): Luis Nani has revealed the tough times he faced when he was young, and believes whatever success he has achieved till now is all on his own.
As a young boy he would walk six miles for football training with Real Massama, since he didn't have the money to get there any other way.
"I had to fight for everything. I had no money or great conditions. I would go alone to training. I have done things on my own since I was very young, and when all opportunities came I was alone," the Sun quoted him as saying.
One of 10 children from a broken marriage, he was brought up in a shantytown in northwest Lisbon by an aunt.
"But all these things make me learn quicker how important it is what I have got. Since those days every opportunity I have had I have taken and I will never go backwards," he said.
"The first time I played for Sporting and the national team I took the chance, the first time I got in the Manchester United first team I grabbed it. I take the chances," he added.
Winner of three Premier league medals and one Champions league medal, he now wants to achieve more success.
"My ambition all my career is to be regarded as the best in the world. I won't be frustrated if I don't get there because I know it is hard to be regarded as the best," he said.
"But I always believe I can get there. I know I have to be in the top five. I have the qualities, the power, the mentality, I am very professional," he added. (ANI)
