Tibetan teenager burns himself to death in China

Beijing, Mar 7(ANI): A young Tibetan teenager has reportedly burnt himself in China, human right groups have said.

Dorjee, 18, set himself ablaze near a government building in Aba county, Sichuan province, where self-immolations involving young Tibetans have taken place recently.

According to the BBC, it is third reported self-immolation case in a week.

In earlier cases, rights groups said that a mother of four and a Tibetan student, 20, had reportedly set themselves ablaze.

China has stepped up security in the area ahead of sensitive anniversaries, such as the 14 March anniversary of deadly rioting in Lhasa four years ago. (ANI)
