Mumbai, Mar 2 (ANI): The Economics Offences Wing of Mumbai Police is presently conducting raids at the premises of former Mumbai Congress chief Kripashankar Singh, who has been charged with amassing disproportionate assets worth crores of rupees to his known sources of income.
The latest developments come a day after Mumbai Police registered a case against Singh and his family members.
Singh has moved the Supreme Court challenging the Bombay High Court's verdict ordering his prosecution in the disproportionate assets case.
The Bombay High Court had on February 22 stated that the certified copy of the memorandum of the PIL shall be treated as an FIR of the petitioner lodged before the police commissioner.
Hearing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by activist Sanjay Tiwari, who alleged that Singh had amassed wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income, the high court had also asked the investigating officer to seize and attach the movable and immovable properties of Singh and his family members.
