Haye refuses to apologize for Chisora scuffle

London , Sun, 26 Feb 2012 ANI

London, Feb 26(ANI): David Haye has made it clear he will not apologize for his brawl with fellow British heavyweight Dereck Chisora.

Haye went on to claim that he would do the same thing every day of the week and advised Chisora to seek medical help before he kills someone.

"The way I see it, I just won't get people coming up in my face -any more," The Mirror quoted Haye, as saying.

"If I could speak to him now, I'd tell him to check in to some kind of anger-management course. He needs to be -medicated before he kills -somebody," Haye said.

The clash took place hours after Chisora was defeated in a 12-round heavyweight-title bout against Vitali Klitschko in Munich. Haye was there as a pundit for German TV.

"I have not apologized and I would never apologize for defending -myself. Boxing by its very nature is two people fighting. I'm within my rights to defend myself... that's what I'll do every day of the week," he said.

He added: "I had a bottle in my hand, but I didn't hit him with it... I hit him with my fist. I had no -option. I couldn't stand there with my hands by my side."

Chisora meanwhile had apologized for his behaviour and was arrested and then released that night, but Haye flew back to the UK before leaving for Las Vegas. (ANI)
