For Sonia Gandhi, BJP, BSP, SP have track record of misgovernance and corruption

Moradabad, Feb 25 (ANI): Criticizing opposition parties, Congress President Sonia Gandhi said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and the Samajwadi Party (SP) have a track record of misgovernance and corruption.

Addressing a public meeting here on Friday, Gandhi said: "I am surprised when BSP, BJP and SP claim to provide good governance. They have a track record of misgovernance and corruption."

" Only they and their near and dear ones have benefited. They have set a new record of dishonesty corruption and loot," Gandhi added.

She further urged voters to be aware of parties, which made hollow claims of good governance during the poll campaigns.

"All and sundry have been making promises. We need to be cautious of such people. We should not fall prey to their assurances," she said.

She also alleged that billions of rupees, which was granted by the Central Government for development projects in Uttar Pradesh, had not been accounted for.

"We have granted billions of rupees, in fact one trillion rupees, to Uttar Pradesh but I am afraid all the funds have been siphoned off," added Gandhi.

The Uttar Pradesh polls are being viewed as an opportunity for major political parties to re-establish their foothold in the country's fifth largest and most populous state.

A new 403-member state assembly will be elected in March. The poll results will broadly indicate trends for the 2014 general elections. (ANI)
