Islamabad, Feb 23(ANI): Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman has said the United States should tell India to stop alleged rights abuses in the Indian side of Kashmir, rather than taking up the Balochistan self-determination issue.
"Why is America silent over the killings of Kashmiris, even though Jammu and Kashmir is an internationally recognized disputed territory?" The Express Tribune quoted Rahman, as saying.
"America is discussing Balochistan in its parliamentary hearings, although, it is an integral part of Pakistan. It is clearly interference in the internal matters of Pakistan," he added.
Rahman, who also heads the Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir, was speaking in the wake of an Indian parliamentary delegation's visit to Pakistan.
He said Washington has incriminated US-based Kashmiri leader Dr Ghulam Nabi Fai to please India.
He accused India of killing Kashmiris since 1947 and questioned international community for remaining silent on the issue.
He also praised a report by United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) Observer Margrat Sakagaya on Indian Kashmir. (ANI)
