Islamabad, Feb 21 (ANI): The Islamabad High Court has summoned an army major attached with the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agency to appear in connection with the missing people's case.
On Monday, IHC Judge Noorul Haq Qureshi heard a petition seeking the recovery of Dr Abdul Qayyuum and Dr Abdul Wahid, and directed ISI's Major Tariq to appear before the court on March 14, The Express Tribune reports.
Qayyuum is said to have been picked up from Rahim Yar Khan while Wahid disappeared from Lahore. The two men have been missing since summer 2011.
The matter has become a burning issue with the Supreme Court and the Peshawar High Court also conducting hearing into enforced disappearances.
Human Rights Watch has repeatedly said that powerful intelligence agencies are responsible for these disappearances, particularly in insurgency-hit Balochistan. (ANI)
