Bangkok, Feb 17(ANI): Suspects detained for the Bangkok blast aimed to target two Israeli diplomats, Thai police have said.
"Their targets were individuals, Israeli diplomats, not the Thai people," The BBC quoted Thai police chief Priewpan Damapong, as saying.
He said the suspects are likely to be charged with possession of explosive devices and attempted murder.
His statement came after the Bangkok police arrested two men for the explosions, while a third man was arrested in Malaysia trying to board a flight to Iran.
The comment seems to back Israel's claim that it is facing a co-ordinated terror campaign.
The Bangkok blasts occurred after two attacks targeting Israeli diplomats in India and Georgia.
Thai police also said the devices found at the Bangkok blast site were similar to the ones used in Delhi and Georgia.
Israeli officials have repeatedly blamed Iran for carrying out three attacks in collaboration with Lebanon's Islamist militant group Hezbollah.
But Iran has accused Israel of staging the attacks as part of a "psychological war" aimed at deflecting attention from alleged Israeli killings of nuclear scientists in Iran. (ANI)
