New Delhi, Feb 16, (ANI): In the backdrop of the first World Marketing Summit in Dhaka, the Bangladesh High Commissioner to India, Tariq Karim, on Thursday dubbed it as a new window to strengthen the India Bangladesh bilateral ties.
"I consider the WMS window as a special privilege for corporate leaders from both countries to see how each could invest, trade and devise campaigns in more lucrative markets. It will provide the opportunity to the people across border to interact and inter-operate," said Karim at a pre-summit media interaction here.
The three-day summit beginning from March 1 will bring together global leaders of marketing from fifteen countries with an aim to chalk out innovative marketing tactics to tackle the prevailing 'economic meltdown'.
"The primary purpose of this annual summit is to showcase the strengths of marketing in approaching the global problems. Under the prevailing the global economic meltdown, it is perhaps apt to identify more innovative approach to try and resolve these age-old ailments," said Sahriful Islam, Managing Director, World Marketing Summit.
India will partner Bangladesh in the proposed incubators that will be used as a center to execute the experimental projects coming out of the summit in the maneuver of addressing the critical areas of health and education. This is central to the summit's theme, namely 'Create a Better World through Marketing'.
"The biggest challenges lying ahead before us are the social evils of hunger, poverty, health, education and climate change," added Karim.
The Summit, an initiative by the world's most influential marketer Prof. Philip Kotler, is co-hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bangladesh. (ANI)
