Washington, Feb 13 (ANI): Adele has revealed that she took a job at a local record store following her Grammy Awards win in 2009, as she wanted to stay abreast of the industry's up and coming talent.
The 'Chasing Pavements' hitmaker walked away with the coveted 'Best New Artist' and 'Best Female Pop Vocal Performance' accolades at the Los Angeles ceremony three years ago and she subsequently took up work at London-based Rough Trade Records to fuel her inspiration.
"After the Grammys... I came here and worked here for a while. No one knows I did it... I did it for myself," Contactmusic quoted her as telling U.S. newsman Anderson Cooper.
The 23-year-old singer also stated that her employment at the store had baffled her fellow staffers.
"They were baffled by it," she said.
The British singer scored gold again at this year's Grammy Awards lately, picking up six prizes including 'Album of the Year' and 'Record of the Year'. (ANI)
