Kunming (China), Feb 7 (ANI): Emphasizing that India has always been a peace-loving nation, visiting External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna on Tuesday rejected a US intelligence official's assessment that the Indian Army was preparing for a limited war against China.
Responding to a statement made by the US Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, who said that the Indian Army is strengthening itself for a "limited conflict" with China, Krishna said: "Well, India is a peace-loving nation, we have never waged any war against any country, after we became free. But whenever aggression has been imposed upon us we have tried to defend our territorial sovereignty and integrity. So, I think the intelligence chief hasn't understood the basic philosophy of India, basic ethos of India."
"India loves to be a peaceful neighbour of every country and we would like to have friendly, and cordial and good relation with every country. So, the question of waging a war against any country is alien to our thinking," he added. By Naveen Kapoor (ANI)
