Islamabad, Jan 20 (ANI): Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi has reportedly decided to skip the Bangladesh Premier League because of his commitments at home.
Afridi insisted that he would instead turn out for Pakistan against England, The Express Tribune reports.
Afridi was sold at the auction for the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) for 700,000 dollars, the highest bid for any player in the auction, and was poised to feature in the tournament to be played from February 9 to 28.
However, Afridi refused to take part in the event, saying his preference has 'always been my national team'.
'I won't take part in the BPL. It's clashing with the limited-overs series against England in the UAE and that's my focus. My preference has always been my national team and I'm looking forward to giving my best against England," the paper quoted Afridi, as saying.
But he expressed his happiness at having been sold for the highest amount in the Dhaka auction.
"I am happy that I've been chosen above many famed cricketers," but "I can only think about playing in the league when I don't have national commitments," he added. (ANI)

Sake of national duty????? November 2011 PCB found guilty by a London court on criminal charges relating to spot-fixing. Amir and Majeed had entered guilty pleas on the same charges. All four were given prison sentences, ranging from six months to 32 months.what you talking about national commitments.........
