Gaya, Feb 1 (ANI): A huge cache of arms and ammunitions belonging to suspect Maoist militants has been seized form in Bihar's Gaya District.
The arms were seized from Lodipur village in a joint operation performed by police and paramilitary forces.
Gaya's Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Vinay Kumar said: "Regular weapons have been recovered in large numbers. One 9 mm carbine, 303 rifle, two police rifles, one Belgian made semi automatic rifle, three 315 rifles, and about 239 rounds of ammunitions, lots of chargers, magazines, etc. have been recovered."
Meanwhile, Jharkhand Police recovered from the jungle areas of Bundu near state capital Ranchi.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Saket Kumar Singh said: "We have recovered 150 pieces of one double decorated boosters, two pieces of country made revolvers, one piece of pistol and a country made gun were also recovered, and also a can bomb of about 15 kgs was recovered."
The Maoist insurgency has gripped nearly a third of the country, spreading into the interiors of 20 of India's 28 states. (ANI)
