Washington, Jan 31 (ANI): Barbara Walters has denied reports that she is in a bidding war with Oprah Winfrey to get Pippa Middleton to come to her show.
Duchess Kate's younger sister became a worldwide sensation at the royal wedding last April but she has yet to give a single interview. However, that may change soon as both Walters and Winfrey are said to be doing all they can to be the first ones to get her on their own respective shows.
However, Walters, a journalist with ABC News, says that paying for interviews is not company policy.
"It's not true... ABC News does not pay for interviews. I have no idea what Oprah does, but we do not pay. ABC News does not pay. She's not a news program, so maybe they have a different policy," Us magazine quoted her as saying.
That doesn't mean Walters wouldn't be up for interviewing Middleton, who was one of her most fascinating people of 2011.
"To make it clear: Would I like to do the interview? Yes, I think she's a charming, beautiful girl... Will we pay to do the interview? No," she said. (ANI)
