London, Jan 29 (ANI): The Queen had a face off with Mike Tyson, as she took on the boxing legend on Saturday in a pigeon race dubbed as The Flight of the Century.
Her Majesty's racing bird Royal Desire battled the ex boxing ace's thoroughbred fliers in the Sun City Million Dollar Pigeon Race in South Africa.
The regal entry is the sole survivor of six sent to Africa from the Queen's loft near Sandringham, Norfolk.
The rest were lost or picked off by birds of prey during training.
The British Monarch's bird joined heavyweight champ Tyson's hopefuls among 3,479 pigeons being released in Hopetown for the 342-mile race back to Sun City, the Sun reported.
The race, which is the richest and most prestigious in the pigeon world, drew entries from 37 countries.
The Queen, 85, is said to be "very keen" on pigeon racing.
Tyson, 45, claims his love of the birds kept him sane after he quit fighting.
He reportedly had several birds in the event, having entered them under the name of an unidentified syndicate. (ANI)
