Ralegan Siddhi, Jan 29 (ANI): Veteran social activist and anti-graft crusader, Anna Hazare arrived here today from his native village Ralegan Siddhi in Maharashtra, for medical check-up at the Medanta hospital in Gurgaon (Haryana).
Anna said he wanted to regain his health soon and continue with his movement.
"I still face some problem that is why I am going for a check-up. We have to again start our fight as soon as I get healthy. We have to fight for 10-12 years, the fight will not end soon, and it is a long fight. Till we don't get a corruption free country, this fight will continue," said Hazare.
The anti-graft activist has been at loggerheads with the Congress Party over the Ombudsman Bill - an emotionally charged issue for which the Gandhian went on hunger strikes, three times, last year.
Anna and his close aides have already started their campaign in four poll-bound states to raise awareness amidst the voters to choose a righteous candidate who supports the anti graft Lokpal Bill.
Elections will be held in Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand and Goa.
Meanwhile, elections in Manipur were held on January 28.
The ensuing polls are being viewed as an opportunity for India's major parties to re-establish or strengthen their footholds in the country's five major states. (ANI)
