Islamabad, Jan 29 (ANI): Pakistani authorities have arrested 22 Indian fishermen and seized their boats for allegedly entering the country's territorial waters.
Pakistan Maritime Security Agency, a paramilitary law enforcement agency responsible for protecting waters within the country's premises, arrested the fishermen as they were caught fishing inside the territorial waters of Pakistan in the Arabian Sea.
On Monday, Pakistani authorities arrested 31 fishermen and seized 14 boats for fishing about 110 nautical miles inside Pakistan's exclusive economic zone, Xinhua reports.
Pakistan, in early January, released 180 Indian fishermen after they completed their prison sentences.
Over 300 fishermen and over 100 Indian fishing boats are still in the custody of Pakistani authorities.
Most violations in Arabian Sea are due to the absence of a physical boundary and lack of navigational tools for small fishermen. (ANI)
