London, Jan 28 (ANI): Petra Ecclestone, who was forced to drop plans to demolish a 200-year-old lodge after outraged neighbours accused her of being responsible for "Botox" architecture, has upset the Chelsea crowd with her renovations.
The 23-year-old younger daughter of F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone, who is planning to renovate her 56 million dollars property, bought her Grade II-listed house in 2010 from the JCB boss Sir Anthony Bamford.
"The noise is a nightmare at eight every morning, on the dot, and Saturday mornings as well," the Telegraph quoted Isla Baring, the daughter of the Australian impresario Sir Frank Tait as saying.
"They are drilling down three or four blocks. They will probably hit the Thames," she said.
Baring told Mandrake that the previous owner of the Grade II-listed house, the JCB boss Sir Anthony Bamford, had invited neighbours to see his plans for the property when he wanted to renovate it, but she heard nothing from the heiress.
According to the neighbours, the work on the property has involved "Channel Tunnel-size diggers".
"I live bang opposite, so we get woken up every morning. My husband and I live here because it's peaceful. We were told nothing and, suddenly, it just goes through. It's unbelievable what is being allowed without any notification to neighbours. Everybody is up in arms," Prudence Horn said.
"She's not an ideal neighbour at the moment. It's disgraceful," she said.
"It's like living on a building site. Thank goodness it's not summer, because one just wouldn't be able to sit in the garden at all," her husband Simon said.
Plans to knock down and rebuild the Georgian lodge were abandoned last June. (ANI)
