London, Jan 26 (ANI): Film star John Travolta has found his stolen vintage Mercedes-Benz, albeit in pieces.
The vintage car was stolen from a Los Angeles suburb and two men have been arrested, according to police.
Travolta's convertible 1970 Mercedes-Benz 280-SL had vanished from a residential street in Santa Monica while the 57-year-old was visiting a nearby Jaguar dealership in September.
Although Michael Green, 58, and DL Rayford, 52, were arrested in December it was only publicized on Wednesday to avoid tipping off accomplices.
A spokesman said that clues led investigators to a "chop shop," where stolen vehicles were found, including parts of the actor's car.
"It was not recovered in whole, it was chopped," the Telegraph quoted the spokesman as saying.
"We have numerous pieces recovered but not the entire car," he said.
He said detectives had informed Travolta about the recovery of his car.
A Los Angeles County District Attorney's spokeswoman said that both Green and Rayford had been charged with grand theft auto in the case.
Rayford was sentenced to 16 months in jail and ordered to pay restitution after pleading no contest to the charge in January, the spokeswoman said.
Green has pleaded not guilty and is due back in court next month for further proceedings. (ANI)
