Malkangiri, Jan 20 (ANI): Police along with security forces nabbed four suspected Maoists during a search operation in Orissa's Malkangiri District on Thursday.
According to local media reports, police and paramilitary forces launched a joint combing operation in the forest area of Malkangiri.
The ultras were caught after being spotted by a team of paramilitary officers.
The accused have been identified as Salbum Era, Bandami Suba, Bikram Bhumia and Pelam Naga.
Police sources said that the arrested ultras were involved in several criminal offences including murder.
In another incident in Malkangiri, Maoists killed a 50-year old man by slitting his throat on Thursday.
The Maoist insurgency has gripped nearly a third of the country, spreading into the rural pockets of 20 of India's 28 states. (ANI)
