Team Anna dismisses speculation of inviting Ramdev to campaign in Uttarakhand

Ghaziabad, Jan 18 (ANI): Kumar Vishwas, a close aide of veteran social activist Anna Hazare, on Wednesday rubbished reports that his team has invited yoga guru Baba Ramdev to campaign in poll-bound Uttarakhand.

"There is no invitation to Swami Ramdev (Indian Yoga Guru). However, we are constantly in-touch with him. We have only informed him about our program as he is actively working in Uttaranchal (Uttarakhand) and if we hold a movement in Haridwar then he has a yoga centre there," said Vishwas.

"So, we have informed him about our schedule to know about his presence. But we have not received any reply from him as yet. So, we will definitely go there. However, he (Ramdev) himself is busy with his movements," he added.

According to certain media reports, Team Anna that is all set to campaigning in all poll-bound states against corruption and for a strong Lokpal Bill, has invited Ramdev to campaign along with it in the upcoming assembly polls in Uttarakhand.

The Election Commission had declared that voting in five states, including the most populous Uttar Pradesh would be held between January 28 and March 03. (ANI)
