London, Jan 18 (ANI): Pippa Middleton has threatened to take out an injunction to stop harassment by the paparazzi.
The younger sister of the Duchess of Cambridge has repeatedly complained about being 'stalked' on a daily basis by freelance photographers.
Law firm Harbottle and Lewis has sent letters on her behalf to photographic agencies that sell the pictures worldwide on behalf of the paparazzi, quoting Section 1 of the Protection of Harrassment Act 1997.
The section refers to the 'prohibition of harrassment' and says that 'a person must not pursue a course of conduct which amounts to harrassment of another and which he knows or ought to know amounts to harassment of the other.'
The agencies have been told that if the photographers don't stop following her with immediate effect, she will seek an injunction and may be awarded legal costs against them for doing so.
Royal sources said, the 28-year-old, who was dubbed 'Her Royal Hotness' after her scene-stealing appearance at her sister's wedding last April in a form-fitting bridesmaid's dress, had been forced to act out of 'desperation'.
"She [Pippa] never asked for this. She has been overwhelmed by the attention she has received since the wedding and is at her wit's end. She finds it particularly oppressive when she is just going about her daily business, buying coffee or walking to work," the Daily Mail quoted a royal source as saying.
There is apparently a huge market for her photographs in magazines and the foreign media, particularly the U.S., where she is as famous as her sister.
Many of her snaps also end up on the internet where there are scores of websites devoted simply to her fashion sense.
"She has been overwhelmed by the attention she has received and is at her wits' end," the source added.
The Leveson Inquiry into media standards and practice heard last week that up to 400 hundred photographs of Miss Middleton are sent to media organisations each day, many of which depict her simply buying a coffee or walking to her office.
Such photographs sell for upwards of 350 pounds a time but can be worth thousands of pounds for an exclusive set. (ANI)
