Islamabad, Jan 17 (ANI): A 15-member Indian delegation has arrived in Pakistan to participate in the third round of Pakistan-India Parliamentarians Dialogue over a broad theme of promoting trade and economic relations between the two countries.
The parliamentarians from Pakistan and India have earlier led two rounds of dialogues during 2011 including Dialogue-I in January 2011 in Islamabad and Dialogue-II in August 2011 in New Delhi. he elected parliamentary leaders from Pakistan, including Senate Deputy Chairman Jan Muhammad Khan Jamali, National Assembly Deputy Speaker Faisal Karim Kundi, Pak-India Parliamentary Friendship Group convener Qamar Zaman Kaira, Senate Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs Chairman Senator Salim Saifullah Khan, among others, will lead the third round while Senator SM Zafar and former Indian external affairs minister Yashwant Sinha will co-chair the parliamentarians dialogue, the Daily Times reports.
The Indian delegation comprises of parliamentarians from both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. Indian MPs from the upper house include Mani Shankar Aiyar, Derek O Brien, Nand Kishore Singh, Naresh Gujral, P Rajeeve, Rajniti Prasad, and D Raja. The lower house members joining the delegation include Yashwant Sinha, Hazaribagh, Asaduddin Owaisi, Baijayant Jay Panda, Deepender Hooda, Hamdullah Sayeed, Syed Shahnawaz Hussain, Shatrughan Prasad Sinha, Supriya Sadanand Sule, and Bhartruhari Mahtab.
It is expected that parliamentarians from India and Pakistan may play a key role in facilitating the dialogue process and conflict resolution on mutually acceptable and advantageous considerations. (ANI)
