Imphal, Jan 17 (ANI): Political parties in Manipur have promised to resolve the problems of the common man and provide people with basic amenities, if elected.
Talking to reporters here, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Radhabinod Koijam said that the party would work towards improving the state by providing its people basic amenities like potable drinking water and electricity supply, if it comes to power.
"We don't have drinking water, we don't have power supply so we cannot have any economic activities, students are suffering because they cannot even study because of the lack of power supply, the basic necessities of life are not there and we have numerous problems like economic blockade on the national highway and then ethnic clashes, misunderstandings, all these things we want to solve properly," said Koijam.
Meanwhile, another candidate belonging to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Bhorot Singh said that his party's main objective is to eradicate corruption from the state.
"The main objective is to eradicate corruption from the soil of Manipur as well as this vast India, now Manipur is very worried about this never ending corruption," said Singh.
Elections to the 60-member Manipur state assembly will be held on January 28. (ANI)
