New York, Jan 14 (ANI): Heather Locklear, who was recently rushed to the hospital after taking a mixture of alcohol and prescription drugs, is improving and hospital officials say that it was not a suicide attempt.
The actress has reportedly been 'distraught' over her split with former fiance Jack Wagner.
Locklear is improving at a Los Angeles-area hospital and did not try to take her own life before a 911 call Thursday, a hospital spokeswoman said.
"She arrived in serious condition, but we're very glad to say she's improving," the New York Daily News quoted Los Robles Hospital spokeswoman Kris Carraway-Bowman as saying.
"Her parents want everyone to know that it was not a suicide attempt. She's not in any danger, and she's just fine
"She's resting comfortably. And when she's not resting, she's talkative and alert in good condition," the spokeswoman said.
She said Locklear arrived around 3 pm on Thursday and slept through most of the early evening and night.
"Her sister was the one who placed the call at 1:47 pm, and it appears she was transported at 2:53 pm. So they took some time to evaluate her. It was non life-threatening," said Ventura County Sheriff's Department spokesman Mike Aranda.
However, he refused to discuss the cause of the 911 call made by the actress' sister. (ANI)
