Doha, Jan 11(ANI): Former Pakistan Test captain Salman Butt, and fast bowlers Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Asif, who were involved in a spot-fixing scandal, are likely to discover their fates today, when an independent International Cricket Council (ICC) tribunal delivers its verdict.
It is alleged that the cricketers conspired in the bowling of deliberate no-balls during Pakistan's tour of England last year.
According to reports, lawyers representing the trio concluded the defence behind closed doors in Qatar Financial Centre Tower No.2 in Doha on Sunday.
The three-man ICC anti-corruption commission, chaired by Michael Beloff, will first deliver its verdict, and then - if appropriate - retire to consider sanctions, the Guardian reports.
Butt, Amir and Asif were provisionally suspended by the ICC in October, with the governing body's code of conduct carrying a minimum five-year ban if corruption charges are proved.
The maximum punishment is a life ban from the game. (ANI)
