Gaya (Bihar), Dec.4 (ANI): Tourists and residents in Bihar's Gaya district complained of lack of cleanliness around the holy River Falgu.
Tourists come to 'Vishnupad' Mandir to give Pind-Daan to their ancestors.
Residents blame the government for not paying attention towards the cleanliness by the riverside and also complain about the lack of clean drinking water facilities.
"Here by the riverside there are heaps of garbage lying. The government does not pay any attention towards this problem. They do not pay attention towards the cleanliness. The tourists who come here are saddened to see the situation here," said Lakhan Pandey, a priest.
"There is no clean water facility here. We have a small pond here to perform the holy rituals," he added.
Baba Bhai Choudhary, a tourist from Gujarat, said the river should be maintained well like any other pilgrimage sites.
"There should be proper maintenance of the river like other pilgrimage sites. There should be a proper maintenance of this place. Trees should be planted here. Cleanliness should be maintained and there should be facility of clean drinking water. If this all happens then it would be very good for the tourists," said Choudhary.
