Goats costly ahead of "Eid-ul-Adha"

Aurangabad , Sun, 14 Nov 2010 ANI

Aurangabad, Nov.14 (ANI): Buying a goat in Aurangabad is proving to be prohibitive ahead of the Muslim festival of "Eid-ul-Adha".

"Eid-ul-Adha" will be celebrated on Wednesday.

Traders have brought a variety of goats to the Chavani Bazaar.

Ubed Khan, a goat seller, claims he owns the original breed of the Jamnapari Goat (a breed of goat originating from India and Bangladesh) and he has fixed a significantly high price for it.

"This is a Jamnapari breed of goat which is found in Hyderabad. I have owned this goat for ten months. It weighs 75 kilograms. I have kept the offer price at two lakh rupees," said Khan.

Eid-ul-Adha is an important festival in the Muslim calendar.

The festival remembers Ibrahim's willingness to sacrifice his own son when God ordered him to.

Muslims all over the world sacrifice a sheep or a goat as a reminder of that event. By Abdul Hadi (ANI)
