Patna, Nov.9 (ANI): An estimated 50 percent voting was witnessed in the fifth and final phase of Bihar State Assembly elections here on Tuesday.
In Bihar, an estimated 50 percent voting was recorded in 35 constituencies during the fifth phase of elections in Bihar.
However, the final polling percentage was being expected to increase as reports from remote areas were yet to receive in the evening till last reports were received.
Political fortune of 490 candidates including 44 women was at stake in the final phase of elections today.
Political bigwigs, whose fate has been sealed in EVMs, include Ministers Prem Kumar, Harinarayan Singh, Bhagwan Singh Kushwaha and Jitan Ram Manjhi.
Meanwhile, the polling in 17 Naxal affected constituencies went off peacefully under tight security during this phase of elections in the State till 4 p.m.. However, polling in the remaining 18 constituencies concluded at 5 p.m..
No major incident was reported from any parts of the constituencies till last reports were received.
At some booths, electorates boycotted polls in protest against non - implementation of development work in their areas. Over 250 persons were arrested as a preventive measures. (ANI)
