Akola (Maharashtra), Aug 1 (ANI): The continuous rainfall has led to the overflow of Katepurna dam in Maharashtra's Akola District, which has eventually caused floods and water logging in the downstream villages.
The floodwaters have damaged homes and inundated roads, thereby bringing normal life in the city to a virtual standstill.
Over 30 villages have been sounded alert following the overflow of Katepurna dam.
"We will open the gate that is what we think now. We have warned all the 30-35 villages in the region about the consequences of the floods," said Muthatkrishan Shankarnarayan, the district in charge.
Heavy downpour burst the embankment of streams, forcing villagers to abandon their homes and hearth and move elsewhere. (ANI)
