German Court jailed man for racists attack on Indians

Dec 05:  A German Court jailed a 23 year old man for inciting racist attack on Indians; he was sentenced to eight month imprisonment.

In August this year eight Indians were attacked in Muelgen in Germany by a group of frenzied people who suddenly broke out shouting go back foreigners and attacked Indians, who bore the wrath of racist mob during a fair at Saxony.

It was a black day for eight Indians hiding in a Pizzeria who were chased by a group of frantic Germans.

A German confessed before a court throwing mettle bar through a window of a pizzeria where the Indians were taking refuse but the man denied any racial colour to the incident.

He said during the trial, “Emotions were running high,” for he is alleged to have provoked racial hatred and damaging national properties during the incident in the East German town of Muelgen.

The accused while denying the xenophobic slur against Indian said that he chased Indians because one of his friends died in the brawl which involved both Indian and Germans.

Earlier, three Germans were fined for inciting the mob during the racial attack on Indians.

However, court ruling was criticised by Indian representatives saying imposing fine is too lenient.

The attack made headlines and highlighted the aggravated racial abuses, though it dates back to history and still people from African and Asian origin face such discrimination against them.

Racial discrimination is at high in Germany as well as in other European nation, there are many places in Germany which is no go area for people of African and Asian origin.

There is report that said that racial abuse had upped this year by more than 25%, the sufferers out there have raised their voice to take adequate measure to address their problem.

But lack of willingness to take this as a huge crime by the authority concern is also one of the problem.

Not in exact ideals but Nazism seems to be reared even now.
