Shimla, July 26 (ANI): Landslides triggered by heavy rainfall in Himachal Pradesh killed two and injured eight persons.
A flash flood killed two labourers and injured five others who were buried under the debris of a makeshift house on the foothills Sunday morning.
According to the local administration, the victims were rushed to the Indira Gandhi Hospital in the city, where two died during treatment.Administration also reported injury of five people in another region of the state.
"In the morning in Kanlog five people were injured and two were killed, their bodies are being shifted to Sirmour district. In another landslide five people were injured in house collapse near Rivoli, all of them have been admitted to IGMC hospital. We have received reports from two places till now, by evening we would be collecting reports from the entire districts," said N.K. Lath, Additional District Magistrate of Shimla.
The injured, who were being treated in the hospital, said everything was so sudden that they did not get any time to react.
"During the morning at around four o'clock there was a flash flood, two were caught under some debris and I was stuck in the mud in the house collapse. Later we were brought to the hospital," said Surat Ram.
The weatherman has warned of heavy downpours in the region for the next two days. Local authorities have issued warning of landslides and flash floods at many places in the state. By Hemant Chauhan (ANI)
