Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh), July 7 (ANI): With the Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Council (Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad) changing its secondary and higher secondary curriculum for the year of 2010-2011 and 2012, students and teachers here are in a state of bother this year.
Students appearing for their Board Examinations are in a catch-22 situation, as they know that some changes have been made in the syllabus, but they hardly have any idea what these changes are.
"We know that there is a change in the syllabus, but we don't know that what changes have been brought in the curriculum. We have also gone to the market and tried to get information about the new books but they are not available," said Faizareen, a student.
Officials on the other hand said the books according to the new and revised syllabus is available in the market and there is no delay on their part.
"The change in the curriculum is according to the Board Pathyakram Samiti (Matriculation Course Committee). These are regular changes that take place from time to time," said Umesh Chand Nayak, Community Education Director.
"The publishers have been provided with the hard disk of the new curriculum and all the books in accordance with the syllabus have been already made available in the market," he added.
The teachers, who are aware about the changes made by the Committee in the new curriculum, are also in the dark with regard to what should be taught to the students. (ANI)
