Leander-Lukas in US Open men's quarters

The final Grand Slam of the year, the US Open, has been so far pleasing for India’s ace tennis player Leander Paes who is now through to the men’s doubles quarterfinals after a dismissal doubles show in Beijing Olympics with Mahesh Bhupathi.


The seventh Seeded Indo-Chez duo Leander Paes and Lukas Dlouhy, enters to the men’s doubles quarterfinals after registering a comfortable straight set win over unseeded pair of South African Rik De Voest and Australian Ashley Fisher, 6-3 and 6-3 in their round three match.

Leander-Lukas pair despite of seven unforced errors and five double faults managed to warp up the match within a little over an hour as they score a winning edge of 63% in their first serve.

They will now take on the winners of the other third round match between the top seeded Canadian-Serb pair of Daniel Nestor and Nenad Zimonjic and the Swiss duo Robert Lindstedt and Jarkko Niemein.

The pair’s best performance so far in the year was in Wimbledon as they reached to the Semis. However, their last three losses were to the world no.1 Canadian-Serb pair, again the likely opponent here in US Open quarterfinal clash.
