Bathinda, Jan.16 (ANI): The Punjabi Durbar programme of Radio Pakistan finds it difficult to accept that the United States is having close relations with India in various fields. The fact that the United States also has close relations with Pakistan, which is helping that country in the operations in Afghanistan against terrorists does not militate against the US having close relations with India. !
The intelligentsia in Punjab, on learning about such an anti-propaganda being promoted through Radio Pakistan, smiled and said its broadcasters should know the Indo-US relations have greatly expanded in all directions in recent past - be it economy, people-to-people contacts and science and technology.
"India has attained an eminent position in international relations due to the foreign policies of Dr. Manmohan Singh. His relationship with the President of US and India's relations with America are very good. Nuclear deal wouldn't have not been successful if Dr. Manmohan Singh didn't have good relations with the US. The long-term strategy of India has not established overnight, Dr. Manmohan Singh has built it over the years. Our Prime Minister recently visited US to meet Barack Obama who acknowledged his valuable associations to discuss issues," said Rana Gurjit Singh, a senior politician and expert on international affairs.
"The whole world recognizes the eminence of Dr Manmohan Singh. The role of India's leaders is acknowledged," he added.
Be it war against terror, natural disaster situations, international piracy, smuggling, scientific developments, or even the recent global climate change issue, India and the U.S. have been noticed by the countries across the world to be coming closer to each other like never before. But Radio Pakistan seems to be living in fool's paradise.
Radio Pakistan is obsessed that getting foreign aid of billions of dollars to fight one's own supported or created terror groups, is an indicator of the closeness of its relations with the United States. (ANI)
