Nov 05: The word fashion week brings beautiful women walking on the ramp in the mind but here is one for the macho man who is equally fashion conscious as a woman.
Finally with a zing, men will arrive to the fashion galleries which were earlier the sole domain of pretty women. Even if they have walked the ramp, they have only to accompany women.
The Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) is planning to dedicate an exclusive fashion week dedicated to menswear.
The increased business in the menswear has impelled the designer wear industry to dedicate a week long fest for the fashion freaks their own platform.
Rathi Vinay Jha, FDCI director said, “The whole idea behind starting the ‘India Men’s Fashion Week’ is to establish a menswear fashion industry in the country”.
FDCI Executive Director Sumeet Nair told that several of international brands like Lois Philippe, John Player focuses on menswear but still there is a long way to go.
“Since there is a big potential market for men’s designer wear, we wanted to do something which will promote the industry as a whole on the lines of women’s designer wear,” he further added.
He said that the booming women’s wear market and the new breed of fashion conscious people through this fashion week are meant to recreate magic.
In its major revelation FDCI also announced that it will host the nation’s first fashion awards in Mumbai next year. Also for specific audience a fashion week meant for traditional wear is also in the pipeline.
Seven years ago India fashion Week was launched, which is a major standpoint for the fashion conscious people.
Also, it kicked off spring-summer edition of the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week.
Rathi Vinay Jha, Director General, FDCI, announcing the award said, “FDCI being India’s apex fashion body, constantly works towards fostering the growth of the fashion industry. The fashion award is another step in this direction. We have provided our stakeholders with an opportunity to showcase their creativity at the India Fashion Week. It is now time to reward deserving individuals. The FDCI board is delighted to announce India's first fashion awards, which will recognise both eminent as well as emerging talent."
AP Parigi, MD ENIL & Director BCCL said, "We are delighted to partner with FDCI as event managers for India's first national fashion awards. 360 Degrees Experience is renowned for having managed and marketed some of India's biggest events. I am certain that this partnership will help take this event to great heights."
This event will unfold many of its option which was earlier available to limited people.
Sure, with this the men’s fashion week will get a new leg up.
