Jaipur, Oct 30 (ANI): The massive fire that erupted at the Indian Oil Corporation's fuel depot in Sitapura industrial area on the outskirts of Jaipur on Thursday night is still raging and unconfirmed reports have said that it may continue for another 24-36 hours.
Unconfirmed reports have suggested that at least 12 people have been killed and 150 others were injured in the incident.
However, IOC Chairman Sarthak Behuria, said: "Three civilians are confirmed dead and one is seriously injured. Six of our staff - three officers and three blue collared employees, are missing."
He also added that five civilians were seriously injured, while 40 others sustained minor injuries.
IOC's total losses due to the fire is being estimated at Rs. 300 crore, out of which Rs. 150 crore is the product loss and another Rs. 150 due to infrastructure damage.
The army has been deployed to handle the situation.
Five lakh residents around the area have been moved to safer locations, including hostellers of 10 engineering and medical colleges.
The State Government has announced an ex-gratia of two lakh rupees to next of kin of those killed in the incident, one lakh to those seriously injured and 50,000 rupees to the injured. (ANI)
